EUI Call 2022 proposal evaluation

On July 27th, 2022 the European Commission announced the results of the Erasmus+ call for proposals submitted in March 2022 for funding as a European University. For the next funding period 2023-2026, 16 projects of existing alliances that already cooperated in the pilot phases, as well as only 4 new European University alliances were selected.

The EULiST proposal was recognized as a high quality proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process, yet despite its merits and a very close result, EULiST alliance could unfortunately not receive funding due to budgetary constraints available for the call. EULiST received 81 points out of a total of 100 points, while the threshold lied at 70 points.

European Commission has confirmed in writing that EULiST proposal for a new European University alliance has the potential to deepen the institutional cooperation between the involved higher education institutions. EULiST has been recommended by the European Commission for funding by other sources and to apply to relevant calls in the future.

In the fall 2022, the Commission will launch the next Erasmus+ call for proposals, with the aim to offer funding for existing alliances and to create new ones. All partners of the EULiST alliance have agreed to continue to actively contribute to this collaborative project and to seize this opportunity and submit a new proposal able to acquire funding next summer. EULiST has been evaluated as having “potential to act as a role model, as innovative, and co- university structures are foreseen that will enable the implementation of joint programmes, joint research, seamless mobility, and the creation of new knowledge”.
