To ΕΜΠ στη 2η Ημερίδα “Ελληνικά ΑΕΙ σε Ευρωπαϊκές Συμμαχίες: Προκλήσεις και Επόμενα Βήματα”

Ο εθνικός διάλογος για το μέλλον της Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης επιστρέφει στο ΕΚΠΑ.

Η δεύτερη ημερίδα «Ελληνικά ΑΕΙ σε Ευρωπαϊκές Συμμαχίες: Προκλήσεις και Επόμενα Βήματα» πραγματοποιήθηκε την Παρασκευή 28 Νοεμβρίου 2025, υπό τη φιλοξενία του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ) αυτή τη φορά στους ιστορικούς χώρους των Προπυλαίων – σε συνέχεια της ιδιαίτερα επιτυχημένης περσινής συνδιοργάνωσης με το Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο (ΕΜΠ).

Στην εκδήλωση συμμετείχαν Αντιπρυτάνεις και Συντονιστές των Ελληνικών Πανεπιστημίων που συμμετέχουν σε Ευρωπαϊκές Πανεπιστημιακές Συμμαχίες, καθώς και εκπρόσωποι του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, Θρησκευμάτων και Αθλητισμού (ΥΠΑΙΘΑ) και της Εθνικής Αρχής Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης (ΕΘΑΑΕ), στο πλαίσιο του συνεχιζόμενου διαλόγου για τον ρόλο των ελληνικών ΑΕΙ στον Ευρωπαϊκό Χώρο Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης.

Την ημερίδα χαιρέτισαν η κα. Παπαϊωάννου Σοφία, Αντιπρύτανις Ακαδημαϊκών, Διεθνών Σχέσεων και Εξωστρέφειας ΕΚΠΑ, Καθηγήτρια Λατινικής Φιλολογίας, ο κ. Ζήσης Αθανάσιος, Αντιπρύτανης Ακαδημαϊκών Υποθέσεων και Διά Βίου Εκπαίδευσης του ΕΜΠ, Καθηγητής ΣΕΜΦΕ, ο κ. Κατσανεβάκης Ιωάννης, ειδικός συνεργάτης για διεθνή και ευρωπαϊκά θέματα, εκ μέρους του Γενικού Γραμματέα Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης Υπουργείου Παιδείας και ο κ. Μήτκας Περικλής, Πρόεδρος ΕΘΑΕΕ.

Βασικοί θεματικοί άξονες της συζήτησης ήταν οι εξής:

– Δημιουργία κοινών προγραμμάτων (Bachelor, Masters, BIPs, AI tools), καλές πρακτικές και προκλήσεις, διαδικασίες πιστοποίησης

– Διαχείριση και υποστήριξη της λειτουργίας των συμμαχιών στο πλαίσιο των Ελληνικών Πανεπιστημίων, γενικό πλαίσιο – οργάνωση – αλληλεπιδράσεις με υπόλοιπες υπηρεσίες των ΑΕΙ, Ψηφιακή Πανεπιστημιούπολη (Digital Campus)

– Ανάπτυξη κοινών πεδίων και υποδομών έρευνας, κέντρα αριστείας και δεξιοτήτων/μικρό-προγραμμάτων στο πλαίσιο των ευρωπαϊκών συμμαχιών

– Διαχείριση και υποστήριξη της λειτουργίας των συμμαχιών στο πλαίσιο των ελληνικών πανεπιστημίων: reporting, νέες προτάσεις, οργάνωση και δικτύωση

– Ενσωμάτωση των δράσεων των Ευρωπαϊκών συμμαχιών στα Ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια – Στρατηγική για τη διασφάλιση της βιωσιμότητας του θεσμού, Συνέργειες, Αξιοποίηση Εθνικών και Ευρωπαϊκών Πόρων.

Στην ημερίδα παρενέβησαν διακεκριμένα μέλη της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας.

Εκ μέρους του ΕΚΠΑ, πραγματοποίησαν εισηγήσεις: η Αντιπρύτανις του ΕΚΠΑ και επιστημονική υπεύθυνη του CIVIS στο ΕΚΠΑ, Καθηγήτρια κα Παπαϊωάννου Σοφία, η WP9 leader του CIVIS “Accredited Shared Undergraduate (BA) & Graduate (MA) Educational Offer” Καθηγήτρια, κα Δασκολιά Μαρία στο πάνελ των κοινών προγραμμάτων, και o κ. Αντωνίου Ηλίας, Institutional Coordinator του CIVIS στο ΕΚΠΑ στο πάνελ για τη διαχείριση και υποστήριξη της λειτουργίας των συμμαχιών στο πλαίσιο των ελληνικών πανεπιστημίων, με έμφαση στο γενικό πλαίσιο – οργάνωση – αλληλεπιδράσεις με υπόλοιπες υπηρεσίες των ΑΕΙ, Ψηφιακή Πανεπιστημιούπολη.

Εκ μέρους του ΕΜΠ, εισηγήσεις πραγματοποίησαν: ο Αντιπρύτανης του ΕΜΠ και EULiST Management Board Co-Chair, κ. Ζήσης Αθανάσιος, ο WP4 “Research & Innovation” leader του EULiST και επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος του EULiST στο ΕΜΠ, Καθηγητής ΣΜΜ, κ. Καρέλλας Σωτήρης στο πάνελ για την ανάπτυξη κοινών πεδίων και υποδομών έρευνας και τα κέντρα αριστείας και δεξιοτήτων και η επιστημονική υπεύθυνη του EULiST στο ΕΜΠ και EULiST Management Board Deputy Co-Chair, Ομότιμη Καθηγήτρια ΣΜΜΜ, κα Αδάμ Κατερίνα στην κοινή συνεδρίαση για την ενσωμάτωση των δράσεων των ευρωπαϊκών συμμαχιών στα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια, τη στρατηγική για τη διασφάλιση της βιωσιμότητας του θεσμού. Επιπλέον, συμμετείχαν ενεργά στις συζητήσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο πλαίσιο των συνεδριών η local coordinator του EULiST στο ΕΜΠ και Προϊσταμένη του Τμήματος Διεθνών Σχέσεων και ΕΕ, κα Λαμπροπούλου Αντωνία, η Task 2.1 “Digital Campus” leader του EULiST, Καθηγήτρια ΣΑΤΜ-ΜΓ, κα Δημοπούλου Έφη και ο Καθηγητής ΣΗΜΜΥ, κ. Μήτρου Νικόλαος, επίσης ενεργό μέλος του EULiST Task 2.1 “Digital Campus”.

Η 2^η ημερίδα αποτέλεσε σημείο αναφοράς για τον εθνικό διάλογο γύρω από την ευρωπαϊκή προοπτική της ελληνικής Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης και ανέδειξε εκ νέου ότι τα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια που συμμετέχουν σε ευρωπαϊκές πανεπιστημιακές συμμαχίες συνεισφέρουν ουσιαστικά στη μετάβαση προς ένα περισσότερο συνεργατικό, καινοτόμο και διεθνώς συνδεδεμένο πανεπιστημιακό περιβάλλον.

Εκδήλωση «Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο EULiST: Ευκαιρίες και Προοπτικές για την κοινότητα του ΕΜΠ», 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2025

Με την ευκαιρία της συμπλήρωσης δύο ετών από την έναρξη των δράσεων του Έργου από την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, ύψους 14,6 εκ. ευρώ για τέσσερα χρόνια, της Συμμαχίας Ευρωπαϊκών Πανεπιστημίων EULiST, στην οποία συμμετέχει το ΕΜΠ από το 2020, διοργανώνεται μια επετειακή εκδήλωση με θέμα «Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο EULiST: Ευκαιρίες και Προοπτικές για την κοινότητα του ΕΜΠ». Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί τη Δευτέρα, 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2025, από τις 12:00 έως τις 15:00, στην Αίθουσα Εκδηλώσεων στο Κτίριο Διοίκησης του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου (ΕΜΠ).

Στόχος της εκδήλωσης, πέρα από τον απολογισμό δύο ετών δράσης του Έργου της συμμαχίας, είναι να ενημερώσει την πολυτεχνειακή κοινότητα για το όραμα του EULiST, τις ευκαιρίες και τις δυνατότητες που προσφέρει, και τις προγραμματιζόμενες δράσεις του.

LUT Delegation Visit at NTUA

On November 5 and 6, 2025, a research delegation from the Department of Separation Science of LUT School of Engineering Sciences visited the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) to strengthen academic partnerships within the EULiST Alliance and explore opportunities for future research collaboration.

The visit was hosted at the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering. The scientific fields that were explored during the visit were Biorefining, Food Processing Technologies, Metals and Minerals, and P-to-X Chemicals.

The visit was inaugurated by the NTUA Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Extroversion, Prof. Manos Varvarigos, and the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering Dean, Prof. Glykeria Kakali.

The visit included plenary sessions with a presentation of the EULiST WP4 “Research and Innovation” activities, with a particular focus on ERIA (EULiST Research and Innovation Academy), topics pitches from both counterparts, visits to Laboratories at the School of Chemical Engineering (Design and Process Analysis Lab, Thermodynamics and Transport Phenomena Lab, Biotechnology Lab) and the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering and the Mineralogical Museum.

Most importantly, bilateral discussions took place, and discussions were initiated on developing joint proposals. These discussions have formed a basis for building trust, understanding mutual interests, and establishing a foundation for cooperation in specific funding calls.

The Master Programs of NTUA’s School of Chemical Engineering were presented to explore a potential future EULiST double degree framework between equivalent study programs from LUT and NTUA. As a first step, the delegates will seek to develop EULiST courses exploring the complementarity of existing Master Programs.

This vibrant visit highlights the dynamic cooperation fostered within the EULiST Alliance and underscores the commitment of both institutions to advancing long-lasting and meaningful collaborations in education and research.

Students Shape the Future of the EULiST Digital Campus

As part of the 2nd EULiST Student Conference, an interactive usability workshop brought together 30 students and members of task group 2.1, which is led by NTUA, to collaboratively explore and improve the EULiST Digital Campus. Divided into four groups, participants conducted hands-on usability tests at dedicated tables, each focusing on a specific aspect of the platform:

Table 1: Testing the usability of the Digital Campus, with a special focus on the course catalogue.
Table 2: Evaluating the current workflow for an e-learning course.
Table 3: Helping to clarify course descriptions for better understanding and accessibility.
Table 4: Examining the current communication channels of the platform.

The workshop fostered rich discussions and practical insights, resulting in highly valuable feedback on how to make the Digital Campus more user-friendly, clear, and effective for all students.

We deeply value and appreciate the engagement and efforts of all participants. Their contributions are instrumental, and we have already started to implement their ideas and suggestions to further enhance the EULiST Digital Campus experience.

EULiST at NTUA Researchers’ Night 2025

The NTUA team proudly showcased the EULiST initiative once again at the annual NTUA Researchers’ Night, on Friday, September 26, 2025 – hosted for the first time this year at the NTUA Zografou Campus.

The event attracted a large and diverse audience including university and high school students, researchers, professors, schoolchildren, and their families and teachers among others. Numerous visitors explored EULiST stand and were informed about its innovative past and future initiatives.

Videos showcasing the EULiST vision, objectives, and opportunities were on display. Highlights included the two Student Conferences (Vienna, Austria 2024 and Douai, France 2025), previous Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), and other key events, opportunities, deliverables, and milestones achieved within the alliance. Looking ahead, upcoming events – including the EULiST Global Conference – and other new opportunities for students, researchers, and professors – courses, webinars, and future BIPs – were also presented.

The strong engagement and genuine interest of visitors highlight the growing impact of EULiST and inspire us to continue creating opportunities for all members of our diverse community.

Στην Κεντρική Πλατεία, μπροστά από τη Βιβλιοθήκη και το Κέντρο Πληροφόρησης του ΕΜΠ, θα υπάρχει χώρος προβολής όπου θα μπορείτε να ενημερωθείτε για τις παλαιότερες και επικείμενες δράσεις και ευκαιρίες που προσφέρει το EULiST.

NTUA Delegation at EULiST Student Conference 2025 in Douai, France: A Week of Collaboration, Innovation and Cultural Connections

From June 30th to July 4th, 2025, the IMT Nord Europe in Douai, France, hosted the second edition of the EULiST Student Conference. Bringing together 200 students of all levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD), with diverse fields of study, from across the 10 EULiST partner universities and countries, this marks the alliance’s largest student event.

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) delegation consisted of 26 members:

23 students, led by Georgia Tritsini, an undergraduate student from the School of Architecture and NTUA’s representative on the EULiST Student Board. The student group included:
- 14 undergraduate students
- 2 postgraduate students
- 6 PhD students – three of whom were workshop speakers: Nikolaos Antoniadis and Doris Skenderas, from the school of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering and the student volunteer organization MiMEC, and Christos Kalantzis, from the school of Mechanical Engineering and the student volunteer organization Envinow. Together, these three students organised the joint workshop “Identifying the Gaps and Connecting Academia and Industry,” held on July 3rd. The thematic interactive workshops, a central part of the conference, encouraged students to explore key topics shaping the future of academia and society, aiming to develop solutions with real impact beyond the conference, and fostered group work, critical thinking, and creativity.

- Andreas Boudouvis, former Rector of NTUA and Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, who was a keynote speaker and participated in an engaging panel discussion on July 1^st on the “Future of Higher Education in Europe through University Alliances”.
- Nikolaos Mitrou, Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and active member of the EULiST Task Group 2.1, who, together with Gergely Rakoczi from TU Wien, led the 1 Digital Campus workshop on July 1^st, where students had the privilege to be the first testing the pilot version of the Digital Campus platform and share their feedback.
- Konstantinos Braimakis, Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, who presented the EULiST Research and Innovation Academy (ERIA) – the flagship initiative of the WP4 “Research & Innovation” – during the EULiST Poster Session/Fair on July 3^rd.

The EULiST Pitch Sessions gave students the opportunity to present their academic projects and innovative solutions to some of tomorrow’s most pressing challenges. Organised into three 45-minute rounds, the sessions encouraged lively exchanges and inspired new ways of thinking. Four NTUA students presented their work:

Georgia – Aliki Trampa (Undergraduate student, School of Mechanical Engineering) – Vortex Induced Vibrations (VIV)
Ioannis Panagiotopoulos (Postgraduate student, School of Rural, Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering) – Deep Learning for Breast Tumor Segmentation: How Data Augmentation Boosts Accuracy

The EULiST Fair/Poster Session also enabled participants to dive into exciting research, meet inspiring people, and spark new collaborations. Five NTUA students presented their research:

Georgia – Aliki Trampa – Vortex Induced Vibrations (VIV)

Participants also had the chance to build cultural connections by tasting traditional snacks and drinks from each EULiST member country and exploring Douai’s historic landmarks and vibrant cultural heritage.

Overall, the 2nd EULiST Student Conference in Douai was an enriching experience for everyone involved, providing countless opportunities for personal growth, academic development, and intercultural exchange. Call for applications – EULiST BIP for Staff, Researchers and Students: Challenge-Based and Project-Based Learning at BUT, Autumn 2025

This Blended Intensive Programme aims to develop the challenge-based learning methodology in conjunction with project-based learning, which is often used in arts-oriented education. This approach encourages creativity, independent thinking, and the ability to go beyond traditional academic boundaries. Within the EULiST alliance of European universities, comprising ten institutions with diverse cultural and academic approaches, the programme will emphasise international collaboration and innovative pedagogical methods.

The programme will reflect key aspects of sustainability, inclusion, and digital transformation, with solutions designed to fit the priorities of Erasmus+ and the long-term goals of the EULiST Alliance.

Target Participants:

Academic staff from any discipline
Student representatives (EULiST Student Board and other active students)

Πρόσκληση Υποβολής Αιτήσεων – Μικτό Εντατικό Πρόγραμμα Κινητικότητας (BIP) για Προσωπικό, Ερευνητές και Φοιτητές: Μάθηση με Βάση τις Προκλήσεις και τα Έργα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Brno (Τσεχία), Φθινόπωρο 2025

Το συγκεκριμένο Μικτό Εντατικό Πρόγραμμα Κινητικότητας (Blended Intensive Program – BIP) αποσκοπεί στην ανάπτυξη της μεθοδολογίας μάθησης με βάση τις προκλήσεις (challenge–based learning) σε συνδυασμό με τη μάθηση με βάση τα έργα (project–based learning), η οποία χρησιμοποιείται συχνά στην καλλιτεχνικά προσανατολισμένη εκπαίδευση. Αυτή η προσέγγιση ενθαρρύνει τη δημιουργικότητα, την ανεξάρτητη σκέψη και την ικανότητα υπέρβασης των παραδοσιακών ακαδημαϊκών ορίων. Στο πλαίσιο της συμμαχίας EULiST των ευρωπαϊκών πανεπιστημίων, που αποτελείται από δέκα ιδρύματα με διαφορετικές πολιτισμικές και ακαδημαϊκές προσεγγίσεις, το πρόγραμμα θα δώσει έμφαση στη διεθνή συνεργασία και σε καινοτόμες παιδαγωγικές μεθόδους.

Το πρόγραμμα θα αντικατοπτρίζει βασικές πτυχές της βιωσιμότητας, της συμπερίληψης και του ψηφιακού μετασχηματισμού, με λύσεις που θα ανταποκρίνονται στις προτεραιότητες του Erasmus+ και στους μακροπρόθεσμους στόχους της Συμμαχίας EULiST.

Εκπρόσωποι φοιτητών (EULiST Student Board και άλλοι ενεργοί φοιτητές)

Διαπολιτισμικές διαστάσεις στην εκπαίδευση
Ενσωμάτωση τρεχουσών κοινωνικών και αναπτυξιακών προκλήσεων στη διδασκαλία
Συν-δημιουργία του προσχεδίου για το πιλοτικό μάθημα μικροδιαπιστευτηρίων στη Μάθηση με Βάση τις Προκλήσεις (CBL)

Το BIP περιλαμβάνει πολιτιστικό πρόγραμμα, όπως ξενάγηση στη Βίλα Tugendhat και εξερεύνηση αρχιτεκτονικών μνημείων του Brno.

Second Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program by NTUA within EULiST: “Carbon Footprint Reduction Initiatives in EULiST Universities”

In June 2025, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) organized its second Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) within the framework of the European University Alliance EULiST “European Universities Linking Society and Technology”. The program, titled “Carbon Footprint Reduction Initiatives in EULiST Universities”, was organized in cooperation with LUT University (LUT), TU Wien (TUW), Brno University of Technology (BUT), Jönköping University (JU), Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), and the University of L’Aquila (UnivAQ).

The program took place from 4 to 30 June 2025, combining online sessions on 4, 11, and 18 June with a 10-day on-site session in Athens from 21 to 30 June.

The 22 selected Bachelor (3rd year and above) and Master’s students from EULiST partner universities worked with experts in the field of carbon emissions, smart and sustainable energy design, using challenge-based learning, hands-on approach and design thinking, earning 4 ECTS. Participants acquired new skills in carbon emissions management, learned to use new methodologies and tools for monitoring and estimating emissions from a life cycle perspective, and developed a new mindset that will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program proved to be a highly valuable experience, offering students practical learning opportunities and fostering knowledge and collaboration, fully aligned with the shared vision of all EULiST partner institutions for sustainability, innovation, and linking society with technology.
